Resources

Hundreds of teachers across the US and abroad have used ASC Education's Comprehensive Resources to refresh, inspire, and invigorate their classes' study of Shakeapeare -- and so can you. We offer a multi-faceted approach to teaching Shakeapeare at any level.

Through study guides, seminars, workshops at the Blackfriars Playhouse, and in-school residencies, the American Shakespeare Center provides educators with the tools to explore the plays in their classrooms. Our methods for engagement focus on close-reading the text with an eye towards performance, allowing students to discover the clues that Shakespeare used to communicate character, tone, and stagecraft to his actors. Our publications, in print and online, supplement these studies with in-depth enrichment, and our podcast series allows you to hear actors and scholars discuss their work on Shakespeare's plays and those of his contemporaries.
