Band Candy isn’t just your average concert—it’s a powerful fundraiser with a unique twist! While you’re enjoying the electrifying performances and toe-tapping tunes at the Blackfriars Playhouse, you’re also contributing to a vital cause: the repair and maintenance of ASC’s cherished musical instruments.
At the American Shakespeare Center, music isn’t just a side act—it’s the beating heart of our productions, infusing every moment with atmosphere, emotion, and energy. Shakespeare was known for filling his plays with sound and music, and here at ASC, we are known for adding to that in-show soundscape with our iconic pre-show and intermission sets. From thunderous storms and war drums to love ballads and whimsical melodies, music is woven into the fabric of our performances, enhancing every scene and captivating audiences with its spellbinding allure. Better yet, almost all of this music and sound is produced live! This means that our well-used instrument collection requires frequent upkeep and repair.
Every ticket sold to this spectacular event helps ensure that our instruments receive the care they need to keep the music playing for generations to come.
