Holiday cheer and playmaking have gone hand-in-hand in English drama for centuries. From a medieval mystery play to a comic mummery, from Ben Jonson’s Christmas masque to a Victorian pantomime, these readings will showcase festive celebration throughout the ages.
See it with: A Christmas Carol, the ASC's perennial holiday favorite!

Presented by 2016-2017 MBC MFA company Compass Shakespeare Ensemble; directed by Shane Sczepankowski
All’s fair in love and war – particularly if you’re after both at the same time. In the midst of a rebellion against King Edward and conflict between the English and the Scots, royals and commoners alike find the time to woo and war in equal measure, with a little help from peasants, prophets, and even Robin Hood.
See it with: Thomas Heywood's Fair Maid of the Exchange, another politically-minded romance.

In the midst of a war between Genoa and Venice, the heirs of the two cities seek a way to unite through love. Shipwreck, separation, and squabbling fathers interfere with their plans at every turn – but that’s nothing a faked death won’t fix.
See it with: that most famous of plays featuring star-cross'd lovers, Romeo and Juliet.
