No Kidding Shakespeare Camp

It's summer camp -- for adults!

July 10-14, 2017

"It was a splendid feast ---- Shakespearean, cultural, and historical for the mind, body and spirit"
-- Marjorie Deutsch, camper 2010 - 2016

Join us in Staunton July 10th - 14th, 2017 for a week of shows, workshops, and festivities as we explore the theme of Shakespeare and Art. From the political messages of Renaissance portraiture to modern works based on Shakespeare's plays, from the role of art in those plays to the ever-more-commodified image of Shakespeare himself, we'll delve deep into the practices and permutations of art throughout the centuries. History experts will teach you what art Shakespeare would have been exposed to and the importance of portraiture in his era, a local painter will help you unlock your creative side, and ASC actors will help you think about when and how art appears on-stage. Key faculty will include Ralph Alan Cohen, Marlena Hobson, and local artist Brandon Wallace. And, of course, we'll have field trips, outings, and a cast party!

"One of the top experiences that I have had at ASC"
-- 2014 Camper
