In a perfect pairing, Virginia students with an interest in Shakespeare came to Staunton on Friaday as The American Shakespeare Center proudly hosted the Lexington Branch of the English-Speaking Union’s Regional Shakespeare Competition this past Friday February 13, at 4:30pm.  Seven students, representing schools in Augusta, Albemarle, and Rockbridge counties, come together at the Blackfriars Playhouse to compete for the opportunity to participate at the National E-SU Competition in New York City in April.  

Members of The ASC’s current Actors' Renaissance Season Troupe, Allison Glenzer, Rene Thornton Jr., and Benjamin Curns, judged the competition.
