The American Shakespeare Center seeks confident, detail-oriented, and even-tempered professional as Company Manager. The primary contact between guest artists and the administrative office, the Company Manager handles all housing and travel logistics for ASC visiting artists. The successful candidate will be a keen problem-solver with a positive outlook, serving as both hospitality and policy enforcement. Since the reception desk is the Company Manager’s home base, some administrative duties are also part of this position.



  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop and maintain collegial relationships
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Love of Shakespeare and theatre a plus


  • Maintain master housing matrix
  • Coordinate with incoming guest artists on all travel and housing details
  • Ensure ASC housing is safe, clean, and fully functioning
  • First point of contact for housing needs, issues, and/or complaints
  • Liaison with landlords on needed repairs
  • Process ingoing and outgoing mail daily
  • Take deposits to the bank
  • Keep the copy room, bathroom and kitchen stocked
  • Answer the receptionist phone and assist visitors to the office
  • Process ticket donation requests
