Kara McLane Burke

Kara McLane Burke was raised in Westfield NJ and graduated from James Madison University in 1992. She toured with Shenandoah Shakespeare Express for a number of seasons as an actor, road manager, and director and later stepped in as understudy on the Blackfriars stage during the 2003 season. She co-founded the theatre ensembles Foolery and Performers Exchange Project (PEP) with other SSE/ASC alums. PEP is a theatre collective that has collaborated on original performances, carnivals and workshop exchanges since 2005. She and Siân Richards co-created and produced The Convolution of Pip and Twig, a play about twins that they performed in VA and at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She lives in Charlottesville with her husband and two daughters.
