Kara McLane Burke

Kara McLane Burke was raised in Westfield NJ, and graduated from James Madison University in 1992. She toured with Shenandoah Shakespeare Express for a number of seasons as an actor, road manager and director, and later stepped in as understudy on the Blackfriars stage during the 2003 season. She co-founded the theatre ensembles Foolery and Performers Exchange Project (PEP) with other SSE/ASC alums. PEP is a theatre collective that has collaborated on original performances, carnivals and workshop exchanges for the past 10 years. She recently returned from the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festival where she performed The Convolution of Pip and Twig, a play she co-created with fellow PEP member Siân Richards. She lives in Charlottesville with her husband and two daughters.
