10,000+ wizards and witches are taking over Downtown Staunton next weekend. Getting to the Blackfriars Playhouse may be trickier than usual—but we’ve got you covered.
The Queen City Mischief and Magic (QCMM) Festival takes place throughout downtown Staunton from September 28–30. To help keep our visiting wizards safe, the City has closed downtown streets for all unauthorized traffic within the festival footprint. Please account for additional travel time in your planning for next weekend’s performances.
Here’s how to get downtown:
Option 1
We highly recommend parking at the QCMM satellite parking locations. Free and continuous shuttles will run throughout the day.
The shuttle drop-off point is the intersection of Beverley and Market—just steps away from the Blackfriars Playhouse.
Satellite Locations:
Mischief Loop
Dice’s Inn (near Frontier Culture Museum)
Magic Loop
Federated Auto Parts Warehouse
PLEASE NOTE: QCMM’s free shuttles are NOT handicap accessible. (see options 2 & 3)
More information on shuttle service is available on QCMM’s website.
Option 2
Staunton’s BRITE bus service will also run a modified route throughout the day.
BRITE bus service vehicles are fully equipped with wheelchair accommodations and securements.
Pickup location is the Statler Square Shopping Center. We recommend the Coalter/Kalorama stop—just one block east of the Blackfriars Playhouse.
Detailed information regarding BRITE’s modified route is available here.
Option 3
The ASC has secured a limited number of spots available to those with accessibility needs. These spots will be issued on a case-by-case basis. Please call the box office by Wednesday to make arrangements.
