what we did

Today started out with a line-through, meaning campers went through the play saying their lines, without blocking. It’s a way to check in with how off-book everyone is. Next, we ran through Act V, which is looking great. Campers took note of what needed more energy from the line-through and really brought it for the run. Finally, Aubrey Whitlock came in to help the cast with clowning. The cast went over several different moments in the show and brought what they learned from the clowning masterclass into the scene, with Aubrey’s help.

As we get closer to our final performance, it’s all about the little details. Aubrey’s work really helped the campers find small clown details that elevate the show to the next level. What I also loved seeing is how campers are able to take notes quickly, and are able to discuss new ideas with each other in a way that feels respectful and collaborative. Tonight, we have our dress rehearsal for the cast of Troilus and Cressida, and I’m excited to see how having an audience impacts the energy of the production.
