what we did

Today was one of the most fun days in rehearsal, because we got to play with sound effects. Whether it’s with kazoos, creepy harp sounds, or recorders, today was all about underscoring the show. We also did some cleaning, and ran Acts I and II. After such a long day of rehearsal yesterday, today was a wonderful and goofy reset.

Here are some pictures of our work today! Spot Joan with the golden kazoo.

production insights

I’m used to having a dress rehearsal and then going right into performance, so I was curious what the process would look like having the dress rehearsal, then four more rehearsals before the show. I really like how we can work out what’s effective and what needs cleaning during the dress rehearsal, then have time to really zero in on it in the rehearsal room instead of just hoping for the best when we perform the next day. I also loved all the sound effects! They add such depth to the show and I couldn’t stop laughing at some of them,
