Show Title: 1 Henry VI

Director: Hailey Pearce

Staff Crew: Emerson Helmbrecht and Topher Zane (RDAs); Alexa Palena and Analise Toone (Interns)

What we did

Today, we had a double-duty rehearsal in the morning and evening. We spent the morning trying on costumes, running quick changes, and working tricky spots in the playhouse. Following a 2 Henry VI rehearsal in the afternoon, we all gathered together for a full dress rehearsal of the final performance festival. This included running all the music, devised pieces, and the entire shows. It was a long night, but the dress rehearsal was a great success!

Quick and Quotable

  • From the play: “I girt thee with the valiant sword of York:” -King Henry
  • (or rather, “I bestow thee with the beautiful costumes of the ASC”)
  • From the cast: “Man, this rigor mortis is really something” -Wren

Production Insights

It was SO FUN to see these shows back to back. The campers have worked so hard with their playwriting pieces and the history behind these plays. The through lines are coming together so so well, creating a cohesive and understandable performance of these complex plays.
