What we did
Today, we started with a personal favorite game of mine, SPLAT, led by Anna Caroline. The game ended with a face-off between Hudson and Laura, who had to provide their best pickle imitation (don’t ask me to explain, please). After that, we worked on the last four pages of the show to finish blocking. Once we had the whole show blocked, RDAs Jake and Topher led fight and intimacy calls in preparation for a run-through of Acts 3-5, OFF-BOOK! The run went wonderfully, and the campers were wonderfully off-book. We ended with a review of music with Brooke in preparation for our song preview on Sunday!

Production Insights
Imagine this: you are a camper at ASCTC and today is the off-book date, but you don’t just have lines in this show, you have another show to worry about, AND that show’s off-book date is today as well. Needless to say, it was a slightly daunting day for the campers. But the hard work they have done is showing! While there is still some more work on lines that need to be done, they are well on track in terms of memorization for our show in less than a week!

Analise Toone
Dramaturg for 1 Henry VI
Analise Toone is a rising senior and first-year Shakespeare & Performance student at Mary Baldwin. She is an ASCOT and attended camp from 2020 to 2022. Analise works with ASC's Drama Club and directed their recent production of Macbeth. She is originally from Birmingham, Alabama, but currently lives in Staunton with her rabbit, Elsa.
