Alternative Title: COVID and Corenswet (David Corenswet to be exact)
Dear all who read the blog,
It has been a while since a blog was written about camp life and so much has happened in the past couple of days, however, be reassured that here at ASCTC we adapt and find solutions to all problems.
This past Thursday camp went under quarantine as two of our campers and some of our staff have tested positive for COVID. We have placed them all within their own rooms away from well campers, and have found ways to keep spirits high in the mix of all the change. Friday became a rest/recovery day. A lazy day where campers got to sleep in, have some outside time, and where more tests were run to ensure the well being of camp as staff planned out what the rest of the session would look like.

Saturday became another free/lazy day where well campers were able to check out and walk to the Staunton Farmers Market as well as get breakfast and lunch in downtown Staunton. The courtyard area here at PEG has been super essential and has now become the main socialization spot for all campers both well and unwell. Campers created obstacle courses and draw with chalk outside, Disney channel movies were played and watched inside, and the positive tested campers were able to interact with each other. The positive tested RDAs hosted a puzzle/board game time with the positive tested campers to ensure that they are still getting the social fun time they need. Saturday ended with a spontaneous trip to the movies to see Superman at the Visulite Theatre downtown. A movie that the campers enjoyed and walked away feeling new found hope.

Today campers have a free time before lunch and then we go back to rehearsals this afternoon. The campers who tested positive for COVID are gonna remain in quarantine up until Tuesday where we will retest everyone who has been sick and then we will go from there. We will do our best to update the blog as much as possible with what the campers are up to as well as the fun stuff we are able to do. Rest assured that the campers are having fun and are in good hands with the staff. Thank you all for reaching out and all the support!
