Campers block the curtain call.
Today’s Date: July 1st, 2025

Staff Crew: Topher Zane (RDAs); Alexa Palena and Analise Toone (Interns)
What we did
Today was our final rehearsal for 1 Henry VI (cue the tears and panic), but we could not have had a better rehearsal to end on. The spirits were high throughout the whole rehearsal, with lots of laughing and silliness while still remaining focused and on track. We started with notes from Hailey about last night’s dress rehearsal. After notes, we moved to tackle the two biggest problems we faced last night, sound cues and props. The campers gathered with music captain, Brooke, to review and run through all the sound cues throughout the show. After that useful review, Lex and I led the campers on a mini tour of the props, pointing out what, where, when, and who used each prop. After this, we knew we didn’t have enough time to run the full show, but we began a run and got as far as possible, making it through about half the show. We paused for the last 10 minutes to block our curtain call, and then the last rehearsal was DONE!

Production Insights
A camp show will never truly be ready by performance day, but that’s the challenge of camp: to put together as much before the final performance and let what happens happen. 1 Henry VI is in a great place. While we would always appreciate more time, I know we are all excited to see the magical show that is sure to occur tomorrow. It’s been a pleasure writing your blog posts this session. Wonderful dramaturg Analise signing out!
