What we did……………………………………………………………………………..
Today’s rehearsal began with a brief warm-up game of EastEnders. We then spent the first hour and a half continuing our detailed work on Act 1. We worked on scenes 1, 2, and 3. The last hour of rehearsal was spent with RDA Team Captain, Brooke. Brooke began teaching the campers their show song that will be sung at the beginning of the show. Austen closed out rehearsal with a circle of reinforcement and a clap out.
Quick and Quotable…………………………………………………………………
- From the play: “Dost grant me, hedgehog? Then God grant me too thou mayest be damned for that wicked deed.” -Lady Anne
- From the director: “I’m always prepared to change everything.” -Austen
Production Insights…………………………………………………………………
As a musical theatre major, I obviously love music! So today was a super exciting day for me!! The show song for Richard III is simply epic, but I must not spoil what it is (you just have to come see the show to find out)! Music rehearsal gave the campers a nice break from their typical text work and created tons of excitement in the room. They made really great progress in just one hour! I cannot wait to hear the song fully completed!
