What we did……………………………………………………………………………..
Today’s morning rehearsal started with a fun warm-up game of EastEnders. We jumped right back into a transition run for the first half of rehearsal. After transitions, campers continued to work on fight choreography with Jake. When stage combat was done, the cast worked notes from yesterday’s run with Austen. Throughout rehearsal, costumes were finalized with the interns. The second rehearsal today was spent purely focusing on music with Team Captain, Brooke. The production team worked with the cast to finalize and run through all of the music cues in the show. The rest of rehearsal was spent working on their show song! Both rehearsals closed with a circle of reinforcement and a clap out.
Quick and Quotable…………………………………………………………………
- From the director: “Part of a transition run is knowing when your transitions are and part of it is paraphrasing the heck out of Shakespeare.” -Austen
Production Insights…………………………………………………………………
One day closer to the show! Today I spent most of my time focused on pulling costumes and having campers try them on. Costuming this show has felt like a puzzle. I have to make sure each piece fits the character and works for the actor. Fellow intern and our lovely stage manager, Allison has also been working with me on this task. Today we got our final pieces of the puzzle into their places and it was so rewarding. The show now looks amazing with all the costumes finalized.
