A rousing rendition of the show song (with sunglasses now!)
Today’s date: 24 July, 2025
Show title: Henry VI, Part 3
Director: Mili Koncelik
Staff Crew: Production Interns Analise Toone (Stage Manager) and Madeleine Cook (Dramaturg); RDAs Sarah Clayton and Topher Zane (Asst. Directors), RDA Team Captain Brooke Crittenden
What we did
In our morning rehearsal session in the Blackfriars, we did a couple run-throughs of the show song (this time adding sunglasses!) and then ran a fight call with all of the stage combat. We then circled up for Mili’s notes from the day before, then had a costumed run-through of most of the show! After lunch, the rehearsal block in the afternoon was a chill working session in the Grafton library.
Quick and Quotable
- from the play

- from the production team
- “It’s a dance party, we’re going to WAR” – Brooke
- “Can anyone do a bird noise?” – Mili
- from the cast
- “I’m still proud of my sons, from the afterlife” – Jaycen
- *various bird noises* – nearly all the campers
Production Insights
First of all, yes, I had to google the word for the-thing-before-the-penultimate-something. Second of all, the fact that the final performance is three days away? Mind-boggling. Third of all, the fact that the campers are doing a showcase of completely different Shakespeare scenes on top of these plays? Also mind-boggling. We hit the ground running from day one and have been SPRINTING these last few days, and a super chill rehearsal session in the afternoon was much-needed — at least five campers made heart-hands at Mili when she announced that that was the game plan at the end of rehearsal number one.
