A sneak peek into the world of King Lear rehearsals, where director Patrick Harris is creating a world of family dysfunction that includes neither wackiness nor cannibalism.

Whole lotta family in this photo.
Definitely a healthy dose of dysfunction.
And yet (spoiler alert) this fight does not end with cannibalism.

For those of you who don’t know, the theme of the 2017 session 1 shows was “wacky dysfunctional family cannibalism.” I’m having a harder time pinning down an identifiable theme for this session’s shows. Suggestions? What ties together King Lear, Love’s Labour’s Lost, and The Knight of the Burning Pestle?

RDAs Daniel Ellis and Jessica Andrews observe the action with the somber seriousness we try to cultivate here at ASCTC.
Patrick overseeing a world lacking any amount of wackiness.
Chase, bless his heart, has taken the burden of wackiness entirely on his own shoulders.
