Today’s Date: July 27th 2018

Show Title: Twelfth Night

Director: Emily Heugatter

Assistant Directors: Alexandra Stroud and Riley Turner

Production Intern: Georgia Fowler

Rehearsal Room: Grafton

What we did: We began our rehearsal with our warm-up and then a quick fight call. We then broke up into groups to do scene work. When that was finished we sat down as a group and discussed who wanted to do what for the show song. We’ve got a good number of instruments and vocalists, so this should be good.

Quick and Quotable:

  • From the play: “Oh had I but followed the arts.”
  • From the director: “It’s a good thing I didn’t write Shakespeare, right?”
  • From the cast: “I know it is about the dick, but I do not know it is joke.”

Production Insights: It’s really surreal for me to be on this side of the production process, especially at camp, but I’m really enjoying it. It’s amazing to watch the cast come together and improve by leaps and bounds from one day to the next. They are all up there creating art and doing so with grace and confidence. A large number of our cast have never done Shakespeare before, or haven’t done much, but they are putting their all into their work and doing a lovely job.
