What we did

Today we finally finished teaching all the combat in the play and we learned the song that goes along with the coronation of Richard as king. The other thing we did today that was quite exciting was that we had a costume parade! We one by one went through each character with the cast and decided how they would be dressed. We are going with what seems to be a semi-modern look, with lots of heavy fabrics and long coats juxtaposed with a golden crown and collar of state.

Production Insights

Today I spent a lot of time working on music with the campers. I love music. I’ve played violin for 13 years and guitar for 3, but I have never taught music before and getting to that here at camp has been one of my favorite things to do. Through this outlet I have learned not only how to teach music but how to arrange it. That is one of the greatest skills to have that I can think of as a growing musician. Having that skill allows me to get a few friends and play any song I can imagine. Not to mention getting to play music with people again is amazing. I haven’t really done that since I was in orchestra in middle school. So, in summary I have loved playing so much music with the campers and I cant wait to do even more.
