Photo of the Day: Thursday line-through vibes.

Video of the Day: Here’s a lil video of Topher doing the Crispy Boy speech, as we call it, real speedy for our line-through! Don’t worry, he doesn’t actually do it this way!! The entire company is in this video, so I wont list everyone. I may get in trouble because energy is very low and we don’t look happy, BUT we are a happy tired. Notice King Henry in his chair above everyone (I’m kidding Topher I know you have a bad back–if you ever read these)

What we did: We had warm-ups led by the LOVELY Andy (Court, Exeter) and then ran the leek scene, clown entrance, and 5.2 into the epilogue, polishing some little things here and there, then had our line through where we just sat and went through our lines as quickly as possible—the french was a challenge!!!! After lunch, we had a long music rehearsal because we added two more preshow songs (they have yet to be approved and may not make the cut.) Then fight rehearsal and All’s Well preview in the evening (check out Lilly’s review!)

Quick and Quotable

  • From the play: “What’s he that wishes so? My cousin Westmoreland? No, my fair cousin”–we talked about lines that get stuck in our head—this one, but Kenneth Branagh’s Henry saying it was stuck in our heads.
  • From the cast: “Cock” “Cock…Oh NO” —Molly playing an energy game for warmups where, when they hear the word cock (not a word that SOUNDS like cock) they turn around and say splat. They said cock and lost.
  • I don’t know if this is a quote from the play or the cast, but Topher saying “Quand votre est France et vous etes mienne” is the funniest thing ever and I’m so glad I’m allowed to laugh.

Production Insights: The line-through definitely boosted everyone’s confidence I think. We breezed through our lines and cues and didn’t have time to think about our next line, we just spoke and had to remember our actual line cues not just the blocking or sounds. And more than anything, it was fun speeding through the show, especially scenes in french or comedic scenes. After that, music rehearsal!! We got one french song and one English song—I’m really proud we’ve gotten to the point in our show where we can add toppings. We have our Sundae and now we can add sprinkles, something I don’t think we expected to have at this point!! I’m really sad this is my last rehearsal recap and I wish people said more funny stuff today 🙁 But what do I always say? Good things happen on Thursdays. I hope we see each other soon <3
