Hey there, friends and family of #ASCTC2023! We’re halfway there! Today marks the 10th full day of camp, and the eighth day of rehearsals. So, if I’ve done my math right, it means that there are only THREE more days until SHOWCASE!!!!

I know that many of you have had a lot of questions about Showcase, like, “what time is it?” “is there a livestream?” and, “does noted R&B singer Mariah Carey make a cameo in one of the scenes?” The answer to all three is, of course, yes.

The livestream can be found here:

We hope you are able to join us, either in person or digitally, to enjoy our selections from Macbeth, Love’s Labors Lost, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Richard III, As You Like It, and Romeo & Juliet.

Please let us know if the comments if you have any questions or concerns!

On a related, though entirely separate, camp life note, we’re all having a great time. Rehearsals for our two productions continue to surprise and entertain (quarterstaves! coughing up fake blood!), and campers have found more ways to get the most from their time here. Earlier this week, ASC actor Gabriela Castillo-Miranda joined some campers for an impromptu Q&A and hangout, and last night campers got to enjoy fireworks from atop Mary Baldwin’s campus.

That’s all for now– keep checking the blog for all your camp life needs, and please let us know if you have any questions about Showcase this weekend! I would love to let my boss answer those.

See ya soon!
