Today’s Date: 7/14/23

Show Title: Cymbeline

Director: Emily MacLeod

Staff Crew: Ronee Goldman, Austen Bell, Rowen Jackson, Scarlet Frishman

What we did

After a much needed game of whooshball we began a fight call and a run of the show! Our run ran right around the time we were hoping for, and in general it went really well. Tomorrow is our last rehearsal before performances, so it’s great that we can have a couple full runs to really get the show running smoothly before the festival on Sunday. The last half hour of rehearsal was spent with Emily giving notes.

Quick and Quotable

  • “The liver, heart, and brain of Britain” -Spoken by Cymbeline towards the end of the play. We like to joke that the production team is the liver, heart, and brains of this show!
  • “You’re wearing such heavy armor, you can’t be pink panther!” and “He’s too good at sticks!” -Kailey
  • “It’s hard to be Cymbeline cause I’m just a little guy” -Bee (King Cymbeline)

Production Insights

Today is a fun day for the campers, as they have a lot of free time! Other than rehearsal this morning and attending Friday Night Lights On (where Eli Dietrich and I will be the featured speakers!), the campers’ day is completely clear! Then this evening we have our camper talent show. They are clearly excited for their free time, but they worked really hard during rehearsal as well. It’s hard to stay focused at this stage of the process, but it’s also so exciting that the cast is so close to the finish line. Only a few days of the hard work is left before this amazing experience comes to a close. I’ve said it since the first day and I will continue long after the festival, but I am so proud of these actors.
