Position Announcement

The Mary Baldwin University Shakespeare & Performance program – in partnership with the American Shakespeare Center – is now accepting applications for the 2019 Mary McDermott Visiting Artist. The successful applicant will spend the spring 2019 semester in Staunton, VA, working with the faculty and students of the MBU Shakespeare & Performance graduate program. Their work will include but not be limited to counseling MFA students in professional preparations, working with and on S&P shows currently in production, responding to student work during post-mortems, and teaching a practicum developed around the Visiting Artist’s particular competency. McDermott artists will also take part in other faculty and student activities within the general course of the academic semester.

Candidates for the position will include but not be limited to alumni and associated artists with the American Shakespeare Center; familiarity with the Staunton artistic community is desired.

Fellowship
