Our 2019/20 National Tour Company performs on the Blackfriars stage – before they hit the road in September travelling from Texas to Michigan performing a three play repertory in the classic ASC shared-light manner to nearly 17,000 audience members at colleges, universities, secondary schools, performing arts centers, and small towns!

From September 5-8, our eleven actor Tour Company will perform their three show repertory – A Midsummer Night’s Dream and the hour-and-a-half version, Midsummer 90, both directed by Nathan Winkelstein; Imogen (aka Cymbeline) directed by Vanessa Morosco; and the Frank Galati adaptation of John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath directed by Jose Zayas – for Staunton audiences.

A 90 minute adaptation of Shakespeare's mischievous comedy is a tribute to humankind's power of imagination, and reveals that the "course of true love" can alter with just one touch of magic. Princess Imogen is catapulted onto an epic journey when her father, King Cymbeline, banishes her soulmate. Featuring a band of tough but loveable woodsmen, an evil queen, noble battles, and unexpected plot twists, this late Shakespearean play enchants audiences with a story about a powerful princess who will do anything for love.
