Ian Charles
Ian Charles received his MLitt and MFA in Shakespeare and Performance from Mary Baldwin University. As the troupe understudy for the ASC’s 2016 Summer/ Fall Season, he performed roles in The Rise of Queen Margaret (Henry), King Lear (Edmund and Fool), Twelfth Night (Feste and Andrew Aguecheek), and Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson (Bandleader). In the ASC’s 2016 Holiday Season, he stage managed The Twelve Dates of Christmas and The Santaland Diaries, and understudied for A Christmas Carol. MBU acting credits include Hamlet (Hamlet), Cymbeline (Posthumous), As You Like It (Rosalind/Oliver), Dr. Faustus (Valdes, Sloth), Henry IV, Part 1 (Prince Hal). Local credits include Heritage Theatre Festival’s I Love a Piano (George), LiveArts’ Les Misérables (Marius), ShenanArts’ Footloose (Ren) and Mary Poppins (Neleus/Valentine). He has earned two Irene Ryan Acting Nominations (Go Back for Murder, As You Like It). He performed in Ball State University Opera’s production of Amahl and the Night Visitors (Amahl), and interned as an actor with Rocky Hock Playhouse.
