What: In classes and rehearsals, campers discover how original practices-universal lighting, audience contact, simple sets, live music, taking on multiple roles and cross-gender casting-reveal more about Shakespeare than they could ever learn in the classroom. ASC Theatre Camp participants, ranging in age from 13 to 18, will discover the world of Shakespeare through professional classes and instruction culminating in a one hour performance of early modern work. Campers will interact with professional actors in talk backs and workshops and make lasting friendships within a vibrant community of creative individuals who help challenge each other to play at their limits. Campers gain valuable experiences that serve them in many aspects of their future - in school and beyond.
When: ASC Theatre Camp 2013 will be held in two sessions, depending on age. Session I (for campers age 13-16) will be held June 16 - July 7, 2013. Session II (for campers age 16-18) will be held July 14 - August 4, 2013.
*Session 1 Shows: Pericles, As You Like It, and John Fletcher's The Wild Goose Chase
