The ASC Theatre Camp emphasizes a unique blend of performance training, personal development, and academic excellence - all key factors to college prep success.
ASC Theatre Camp participants, ranging in age from 13 to 18, will discover the world of Shakespeare through our comprehensive, college-preparatory training program. Students take classes, engage in rehearsals, and receive professional instruction culminating in a one hour performance of a play by Shakespeare.
In classes and rehearsals, campers discover how Shakespeare’s Staging Conditions - employing universal lighting, engaging in audience contact, performing music, playing multiple roles and genders and using the space Shakespeare wrote for-reveal more about Shakespeare than they could ever learn in the classroom alone.
Campers interact with professional theatre-makers and form lasting friendships within a vibrant community of creative individuals who help challenge each other to play at their limits. Campers gain valuable experiences that serve them in many aspects of their future - in school and beyond.
When: ASC Theatre Camp 2015 will be held in two sessions. Session I will be held June 21 - July 12, 2015. Session II will be held July 19 - August 9, 2015.
*Session 1 Shows: Henry V, The Merry Wives of Windsor, and Cymbeline
*Session 2 Shows: Coriolanus, Julius Caesar, and The Two Gentlemen of Verona
